Pair of Top-10 finishes in North/South prelims at Florence Speedway
Returning to Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series competition after a two-week break, Carson Ferguson unloaded the Paylor Motorsports No. 93 at Florence Speedway (Walton, Ky.) on Thursday afternoon for the North/South 100 weekend.
With 61 Late Models checked in on opening night, Ferguson nabbed a transfer spot in his heat race before making up six positions in his $6,000-to-win preliminary feature to finish 10th.
The following night, Carson stormed forward in his heat from sixth-to-second and started fifth in his second prelim feature where he would record another 10th-place outing.
Hitting a lucky redraw on Saturday, Ferguson started his heat race from the pole and led six laps before a flat tire derailed his bid for the victory. After not being able to transfer out of a B-Main, Carson took a provisional starting spot in the 100-lap main event and finished 26th.
Ferguson is currently 18th in the LOLMDS point standings.
