Ferguson storms to podium finish in Turkey 100 at Swainsboro Raceway
On Thanksgiving weekend, Carson Ferguson invaded Swainsboro (Ga.) Raceway on Friday afternoon for the first night of the $10,000-to-win Turkey 100.
Following the fifth-fastest lap out of 26 competitors, Carson started the 30-lap preliminary feature from the third row and was running second when he cut a tire down. Ferguson recorded a 19th-place finish.
Hoping for better luck in Saturday's $10,000-to-win finale, Ferguson missed the eight ball in his heat race which relegated him to a 13th-place starting position. During the 50-lap main event, Carson crawled forward through the field to land on the podium in third. He trailed Cody Overton and Will Roland while Pearson Williams and Brandon Overton completed the Top-5.
