Ferguson 14th in Lucas Oil Dirt Track World Championship at Eldora
Running a special wrap for the late Freddy Smith, Carson Ferguson joined 61 other competitors at Eldora Speedway (Rossburg, Ohio) on Friday afternoon as the half-mile oval hosted the opening round of the 43rd running of the Dirt Track World Championship.
After Friday’s program was delayed to Saturday due to continuous rain, series’ and track officials made the decision to shift heat races scheduled for Saturday to Sunday with hopes for better track conditions.
On Sunday afternoon, Carson earned a sixth row starting position in the A-Main after a strong runner-up outing in his heat. In the $100,000-to-win season finale, Ferguson completed 66 of the scheduled 100 laps and brought his No. 00 machine back in the 14th spot.
