Ferguson falls just short in The Big One at Cochran Motor Speedway
Taking a short hiatus from Super Late Model competition, Carson Ferguson took the wheel of the Derek Dent-owned No. 18 602 Late Model to compete $20,000-to-win Big One at Cochran (Ga.) Motor Speedway.
Among a whopping 45 Late Models checked in on Friday evening, Carson automatically locked himself into the 75-lap main event after a third-place run in his heat race.
For the $20,000-to-win finale, Ferguson rolled off from the sixth row and quickly moved into the Top-5. Running down race-long leader John Ruggiero Jr., the duo battled for the final 20 laps before Carson fell just short of overtaking John. Ferguson finished second while Mark Whitener, Caleb Gay, and Cody Overton completed the Top-5.
