Ferguson second in Independence Shootout at Senoia Raceway

Carson Ferguson made his lone start of the weekend on Saturday afternoon at Senoia Raceway (Senoia, Ga.) for the co-sanctioned Independence Shootout with the Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series and Ultimate Super Late Model Series.

With 39 Late Models on the property, Carson topped the charts in his qualifying group before locking himself into the main event with a runner-up finish in his heat. With $10,000 on the line in the feature event, Carson moved his way forward from the seventh-position and challenged race-long leader Jimmy Owens, but ultimately settled for a runner-up outing. Pearson Lee Williams, Dalton Cook, and Ben Watkins completed the Top-5.
